Water Filter and Purification

There are many types of water filter and purification methods. Some of these water filter and purification methods include boiling water. Boiling water is a very popular method because of how easy it is. This method gets rid of most bacteria and viruses. It does not get rid of items like metals that have high boiling points. Metals like these can have long term adverse effects on the body such as blindness, mental instability and death. If you don't know about the metal content of the water you are trying to purify with the boiling method, it is best not to use this method long term. Another form of water filter and purification is UV filtration. This employs the use of a UV light that essentially neuters the dangerous microbes in the water.

These microbes can reform and start reproducing one exposed to light, and this method does not get rid of large contaminants like dirt and microbial cysts, so this method is best used along side of another method. Water and purification can also can in the form of chemicals. Chemicals like chlorine, iodine, and silver ion can be used to rid water of harmful substances. The problem with this type of water filter and purification is that some of these chemicals are not good for long term use and can cause side effects such as blue coloring of the eyes and skin, which can be disfiguring. Another form of water filter and purification is the use of a charcoal filter.
